Awful in every way!
Tried to give them 0 stars, but it would not let me. Below is a copy of my Yelp review. Be sure to check out their Better Business Bureau reviews. Also the NY Attorney General recently brought a case against them for not paying their workers and they ended up settling for $350,000. This company has proven to be disgusting in every way. I have been waiting to write this review because I was hoping to come to a resolution with Shleppers regarding our problems. That hasn't happened. Full disclosure: This move happened at the end of August of '13 and we have been going through our Credit Card company to try to resolve the issue. This has been hands-down the worst experience I have ever had with a business. I want to try to keep this short so people read it and benefit from it. My wife and I hired Shleppers to move us from a small one-bedroom apartment on the Upper West Side to a one-bedroom apartment in Inwood. The movers they sent were unable to perform the move. By the end of the day I had called friends to help us. My friends, my wife and I moved 90% our stuff from the moving truck into the new apartment including ALL of the furniture. I also spent the entire next day shuttling back and forth between apartments bringing the stuff they had left behind in our old apartment. Some of the reasons the movers could not move us include: They sent movers who had injuries and were unable to lift things, They sent movers who could not communicate with each other due to language

This was a huge relief because my initial move to Dallas was a huge disaster! So disastrous that we were very skeptical about ever using another moving company ever again. 24 Hours Moving restored our trust in moving companies.We received on-time, reliable and honest updates from our agent Sindy. The Delivery guy updated me a day before the delivery arrives and called me again 30 minutes away, He is also considerate of our work status and is willing to give me a call when he is an hour away so i have time to drive down. The people in the office and the field people are accurate and very polite.I don't have any problem with this people and I am willing to refer them to my colleagues and friends.

Gratitude!
I would just like to express my sincere gratitude for all the things you have done for my move. With husband being away in abroad and myself living remotely at another state, this move seemed to be a formidable task. I had my moving day yesterday and not only did they show up on time (early, actually), but they seemed prepared and ready to move my crap and never complained once, even when we found out the freight elevator was out of order in my new building and they had to share the passenger elevator and stairs. They even helped put things together and made sure everything was in the right place before they left. AND they took my old couch out to the dumpster for me! They were also very patient with my extremely yappy dog who wasn't happy that I crated him while the movers were there. I am so glad that I chose Joy Moving Storage. You just made it so easy. I really appreciate the numerous phone consultations Sheila provided to my what-if questions and particularly the fast response that led to fast resolution of the car key problem. It was a great experience to work with you all and I will recommend to all my coworkers. Thanks again!

We just got moved by Element last week. We moved from Dallas to Phoenix with a 4 bedroom home, 2 kids and 2 dogs and 1 cat. Overall I think the move was a good one, we didn't have many expectations, the last company that moved us lost our dresser, and I still don't know how. What I liked about Element is they were prompt and very nice. I called on a Friday late afternoon, and they had me quoted soon after that. I agreed to hire them if they showed up on time, which they did. Once Terrance and Sheldon started packing, I could tell they were serious about their job and was very passionate.They packed my artwork, and glass items (of which we had many) with great care. We had one broken glass from a coffee table which the company replaced within a few days. The company stored our items for a month and then put everything into our new home.setting up whatever we needed.They were amazing. The second crew that unloaded our things included Terrance and Sheldon and added Bruce, Jay, and Marco. Thanks so much for everything. Gratefully, Fran Dora.

Impressed!
After calling several companies to compare prices, Element was the only one that followed up as they said they would with a written e-mail stating what they told me over the phone. A few days later a friendly follow up phone call from Denise just to see if we had any questions about the quote. She was friendly, NOT pushy. After about 4 hours of packing, they were ready to roll. I had already spent the prior week off work getting the small stuff in boxes and o'lord, all the kids junk and toys. Probably the hardest part was the above ground pool that we had waited to the last second to diassembled. The kids didn't want me to take it down until they got a good swim out of it the night before. Derrick Evans was very helpfuil in his suggestions to pack the pool properly so it wouldn't rip or tear. I'm sure the kids were glad he did that, because the first thing they wanted to unpack? The pool! I'm impressed with Element and would hire again.

Form the moment of my first phone call, Hollie took the time to answer my all of my questions. After finding so many positive reviews, I called back and scheduled my move. All of our belongings were in storage and only moving a few miles down the road. The two guys took excellent care of our couches and beds. We only needed the large items transported but next time we will sit back and relax. Thank you Element! You guys all are rock stars! You will be referred many times!

Men On the Move
Over 3 hours late
If I could give 0 stars, I would. Ever since my experience with them, I've been very strongly recommending NOT hiring them. If you want a smooth moving day with peace of mind that your movers will show up, DO NOT go with Men on the Move! We wanted to go with a local company because we like to support local business, but this one has a long ways to go in terms of professionalism and customer service. First off, the owner of the company refuses to put estimates, moving arrangements in writing. I was already uncomfortable with this, but he said he believed that a good-ole fashioned hand shake and his word were things that could be relied upon. This could not be further from the truth. Two days before our scheduled move, they called to push back the time 2-3 hours to accommodate another move they wanted to scheduled, which we agreed to, because we like to think we're usually fairly easy-to-please, accommodating people. The morning of our move rolls around and our appointment windows comes and goes. Another 15 minutes go by so we call the office and no one picks up, so we leave a message. Another 30 minutes later, we leave another message. No response. It was 2-3 HOURS past our appointment window when we called and someone happened to be in the office to pick up the phone and said they had not written our appointment down correctly but they'd get someone over right away and we'd get a 40% discount. Pretty disappointing, I'm sure they'd want more than 40% if we had was

From the initial phone call to the final delivery date, I was being acquainted with an excellent mover. They came out to our condo and made a correct calculation. They carefully wrapped my all furniture, traditional and delicate items. They worked their butts off to get done everything on time and they did. I was thinking for my kitchen. But they handed over all my utensils at the new apartment without a single glitch. They were prompt, cautious and skilled. I moved out of a 2 bed room apartment into a small house in Texas. Since Joy Moving Storage sent four persons, it took short time to finish the work. They took down our beds, couches, big tables, mirror, tv and many other items. They maintained the delivery spread window. The guys, who came to deliver, unloaded and reassembled my stuffs. They decorated my furniture and other items (it was not pre defined).

No Trouble!
We had some antique items to sale. We found a customer in Alabama. The movers were hard working. They got those items up three flights of stairs in our customer's premises. Often I judge a company not by their fault but how they handle the problem when that arises. Joy Moving And Storage solved the trouble relocating our large couch in to the truck through a narrow staircase. That was extremely tough to make without hassle but they did it. He praised this mover and told me that he would also hire them if needed.

My TV, refrigerator, oven, computer, audio and other equipment were shifted at utmost dedication of some Joy Moving And Storage gentlemen. They arrived on-time and arrived ahead of time (lowering my bill). I am definitely glad I choose this company and have referred them to many of my friends.

After much research and many phone calls my wife and I decided to go with this mover for our move. There price was a little higher than the others but we felt that they were offering the best service for our needs. I spoke with Tekla at the Sales/Reservation Department Joy Moving And Storage, and she made me feel so relaxed and hopeful. They handled everything with care and made sure all of our belongings arrived safely to our new home. The packing and the loading took about 5 hours, they agreed to store my furniture for few weeks as my closing felt through and I couldn't get into my new house.

These guys helped me a lot. I'm a single mom and the kids were driving me crazy during the move. The movers were on time and courteous. They got me from Florida to Pennsylvania in a hurry. They also did not get lost along the way, unlike some people!!

I have moved a lot and used many movers because I have to relocate a lot sue to my job. Recently I used this company. Being honest I was never expecting such world class service because my previous experience is not so pleasing using other movers. However, when I called them and talked with their sales rep he was quick to figure out my needs. He offered me a deal which was tailor made for me. I grabbed their offer in both hands. But everything remained on their performance. The team of full service van lines arrived on time and accomplished the move within the schedule and without any kind of issues. I was surprised to check the inventory after the move because I did not notice any damaged or broken stuffs. Everything was in great shape and most importantly they did not charge more than the estimated amount.

This was the second move I made with my wife since we got married. This was her 6th move as a United Methodist Pastor. The crew Joy Moving And Storage was courteous and hard working. They seemed to have a very good attitude joking around with each other a bit and never a word of complaining about their work.The two movers arrived late and parked nearly a football field away which we did not know this information at first. The first object they took downstairs was our couch and they were gone nearly 15 minutes. Completely impressed, and I will be calling them first the next time I move. Also recommended to friends.

We are military and have a lot of moving experience in different countries. This was the first time we had to pay for our move and thus picked the company. I had four companies come to our house and give us estimates. Being active duty military I have a very transient lifestyle and have made many moves in my 17 plus years of service. I recently used this company to move from Chesapeake, Va. to Herndon, Va. I've never seen a more coordinated, efficient, careful, and helpful bunch of men. Rick assured me they would be good, but I had no idea! Joy Moving And Storage were not the cheapest, but fairly priced. Their customer service is phenomenal!

Awesome movers
Due to the nature of my job I have to relocate a lot. As the process few days ago I had to move to Miami from Huston. This time I used trans united inc. after using them I have decided to use them for my next move as well because their sales rep Kim gave me the best deal and their movers moved all my belongings in one piece and without damaging anything. They were fast and very reasonable as far as the price was concerned. Being honest I got more than what I was hoping for. Thanks a lot guys.
