GPS Moving and Storage
Reckless and unprofessional
I have moved back and forth across the country multiple times, now, and this was easily the worst experience I ever had. I vigorously recommend using anybody but GPS. It has been an awful, heartbreaking experience. At the beginning, Abe, our estimator and the individual who said he would manage our move, was very friendly and reassuring. He gave us a very good quote and put our minds at ease regarding what, in retrospect, were very significant red flags. In short, he was an excellent salesperson. GPS is great at sales, terrible at moving. Abe told us he would be there to oversee the day of the move. The day came, but Abe was not there. The movers told us Abe was on his way, but he never materialized. The movers were disorganized, unprofessional, and did not have their act together. One of them behaved as though he was stoned out of his gourd the whole time he was there. They fought with each other, and double-labled a number of boxes. They did not know their business or their paperwork. They were respectful to me, but not to our belongings. There were only two items we had them pack, everything else was well-packed organized. Both those items were badly broken upon arrival, and they did a horrible job packing just those two items. (More on the broken items below.) The major problem, I believe, came because the truck they brought was NOT actually the moving truck. They loaded their truck, unloaded it in a warehouse outside of our supervision, and reloaded it on a truck when it one was headed our way. NEVER EVER EVER LET THIS HAPPEN. Always make sure all loading and unloading happens in your presence. From the condition of our belongings upon arrival, I can only assume that they loaded and unloaded VERY haphazardly and recklessly. When our items arrived, virtually every single piece of wooden furniture that they wrapped and loaded was damaged, dented, or seriously scratched. We had major damage to over TWELVE pieces of furniture. Some were irreplaceable family heirlooms, and some were utterly demolished beyond repair. Needless to say, we were devastated by the loss of these precious belongings. We spent extra to purchase the "heavy" boxes, and several of them were returned crushed. We were overcharged because at least 7 boxes were double-stickered (so we paid for them twice), or were labeled as "large" in spite of the fact that they were "medium" or smaller. Perhaps worst of all was that when we complained, they said they would "make it right," and asked us to submit a claim. We did so, and they offered a pittance, less than 5% of the cost of the move. They said this offer was take it or leave it, and now we're going to have to take the matter to arbitration to get anything else. GPS may seem inexpensive compared to the competition, and they may be great at selling their services, but they are very bad at their jobs, and will handle your belongings in a reckless and harmful manner. I cannot recommend strongly enough avoiding GPS at any cost.

My good choice

Made Moving Easy!
These guys are lifesavers. I suddenly got transferred and I had little time to move. I called many companies but they could not help me. Great Lakes Van Lines was the one who helped me out. God bless them! I do not know what I would have done without them! The moving was great. The people came on time and packed my apartment as quickly as they could. There were no damages or hidden fees. They were very clear about the rates. I am now shifted here and I would like to thank Lifetime moving

Moving is actually fun once you hire All Around Van Lines. This company sent movers who are funny, smart and also hardworking. Moving things seemed so easy when they were doing it. American united vanlines is an awesome moving company. I have used them 4 times, for all kinds of moves. They employ professional movers unlike others who make do with part time ones.
