This company was founded by husband and wife, Willis & Jessie Bertsch in 1928. They operated the business from their home at that time, in Thurston, Oregon. Willis would book the moves and be the driver while Jessie operated the "office" in their home and scheduled the moves. Later, they moved to Eugene, and again, operated out of their home until they rented an office in downtown Eugene and rented warehouse space for storage of household goods/personal effects in a separate building several blocks away. At that time, they were affiliated with Mayflower Transit. In the 1950s, Willis & Jessie "changed colors". They dropped Mayflower Transit in favor of the more trusted and efficient, Allied Van Lines. Bertsch Moving & Storage, Inc., has represented Allied ever since.

Comment : My experience with Bertsch Moving was really pretty good, considering how stressful moving can be in general. I really appreciated Dakon coming out and looking at my stuff and estimating it himself. He really laid to rest a lot of worry I had about moving across the country. I trusted them completely, and they did not disappoint! The movers who came to load and unload my stuff were professional and kind, and had great senses of humor as well! The *only* thing I could say was a little bit lacking was some lack of communication in the beginning in hearing back about my quote and finding out the exact date that the company would be coming to get my stuff. A bit more communication would have been better, but once the ball was rolling, it was a smooth ride. I would absolutely recommend these guys for anyone else who is looking at moving!
