Frank The Chief Corrigan moved from the lumber camps of Quebec to Michigan in 1923, lured by the dream of earning $5 a day. In Dearborn, MI he joined the Ford Motor Company where he worked at the Ford farms. Sometimes he even chauffeured Henry Ford himself. The Chief was ambitious so when he wasn t working at Ford, he ran his own ice delivery service. Yes, back before refrigeration was commonplace people relied upon the delivery of blocks of ice for their refrigeration needs. When The Great Depression hit, many folks were economically strapped and forced to move from their homes. The Chief made the most of the opportunity, and in 1929 switched from hauling ice with his trucks to helping people move. This led The Chief into the moving industry, and with that Corrigan Moving was born.

Comment : We have used Corrigan Moving twice in the last 5 years, both cross country moves and we can not say enough nice things about them. Everyone that we dealt with from our coordinator Bernice to the packing crew and loading crew in Arizona, our fabulous driver Harvey and the unloading crew in Michigan were the best! We were able to make small changes before the move, we were able to contact Bernice when we needed her and we were kept informed of the progress of our belongings as they moved across the country. Our original move from Michigan to Arizona went just as smoothly. I would highly recommend using Corrigan for your move.

Comment : I have never moved cross country before. Corrigan did an excellent job on making this first experience an excellent one. They were accurate in each phase of the move, from the pre-move inspection to day of pickup and delivery. I did have a slight damage to a couple bar stools. However, they took care of the issue immediately and reimbursed me for both chairs.

Comment : Moving is always stressful so you need some company and mover who can turn the stress down. The driver and at the same time boss Mark Weimer was very respectful with people and furniture. The packing went great, steady, secure and in an out of the way. Great company and excellent team leader in Mark Weimer. Just great.

Comment : I hired Corrigan a couple of months ago to move me from one apartment to another & they were fantastic. I got quotes from a couple other companies but when I contacted Corrigan to get one they actually came to my home to inventory what I had so that my quote would be accurate while the others were essentially guesstimates. The gentleman who came to do the inventory was really friendly & professional & after a chat & a walk-through he provided my estimate & a lot of information & he answered all of my questions. In the end Corrigan was about $50 higher than the other places I spoke with but they offered insurance, 3 movers instead of 2, a small discount through my work & because of that relationship I also got a couple things for free which was really nice since I was on a tight budget. After comparing my bids & doing some extensive research about customer service related to issues after the move (in case anything happened) I knew that Corrigan would be worth the extra $50. I had a feeling that in the end the other companies would cost more because they would likely take longer than they thought being that they quoted the same number of hours as Corrigan but with less movers. Once I decided to proceed I contacted Corrigan & they walked me through everything, they maintained contact with me via email & phone throughout the entire process, sent me moving tips & even called me during the move to make sure that everything was on schedule & going as planned. The 3 gentlemen who came to do the move were so nice, friendly & fun as well. They brought in wardrobe boxes right away & my aunt & I began cleaning out my closet while the guys started loading up the truck. Once we were done we just sipped coffee & booze until the guys were done. We went right to the new place & while my aunt & I were unloading the wardrobe boxes they started unpacking the truck. Being a bit OCD I had 95% of the boxes labeled which made their job & mine much easier. Once everything was unloaded they went through the whole place with me to see if I needed anything moved which I did & they tweaked everything I needed changed. My bid was for 4 hours & it took them EXACTLY 4 hours! The service was worth every penny especially since I was confident that if I found any issues, broken items, missing items, etc. that they would fix it right away. I will definitely use Corrigan again & I highly recommend you use them as well!!
