moving experience with Dircks was quite good
My moving experience with Dircks was quite good. Though an estimator never came to my house to survey my goods, it worked out that there was adequate material(s) for all of my belongings and no secondary trips necessary. My move coordinator was in constant contact with me (but not too much) to let me know the progress of items. My moving team was awesome - the guys were quick and thorough - all my stuff arrived in as packed condition on the first day of my time window which to me was a HUGE positive thing. All in all a good company to work with !

Discount Moving Co Inc
NOT recommend this company
These young kids showed up 2 hours late, then took them another 30 minutes to get started. I requested 4 guys, they sent 3. I caught 1 of the guys out front of my building talking on his cell phone while I am paying him to wrap and move my furniture. They damaged an expensive credenza because they did not wrap it properly and were basically not careful. They argued with me about moving a $17,000 sofa, they wanted to shove it in an elevator that was too small. Anyone with an ounce of common sense could tell it would not fit. It is been 3 month since my move and they still have not returned my phone calls about being compensated for the damaged they did to my credenza. I would NOT recommend this company

Courteous, efficient and accommodating! Very professional from setting up appointment in the beginning to moving day operations. These gentlemen made use of all space in the truck and done swiftly. I would definitely reach out to them again for another move.

Totally unresponsive and irresponsible.
Totally unresponsive and irresponsible. Dehavens came to my home to do an estimate and then never returned my calls or emails afterwards. I guess they saw that I was not taking a lot of stuff and did not want their extra insurance option, so they decided to ignore me completely. What a waste of my time, and this behavior is completely unprofessional.

Everyone involved at Delaney was excellent. Art and Cheryl really know customer service and took good care of us. The driver, Tom, was professional and hardworking. Both loading and unloading teams were polite, respected our homes and belonging. Not one item was broken or damaged. Totally pleased with our experience.

Their crews are wonderful, respectful, and hardworking
I have never actually written a Yelp review but feel compelled to do so after this experience. I will start by saying, the movers themselves are outstanding. If I was reviewing them alone, I would give them 5 stars. However, if I had to solely review the company and their unethical sales tactics, I would give zero stars if that was an option. So, because of your amazing staff alone, I am giving you three stars. If you are planning to hire this company know that they will change your estimate two days before they are to move you and not in your favor. We changed nothing. Added nothing. In fact, my husband chose to move things himself and we were still up charged $600 and nobody can explain why. It is a bait and switch since we could not possibly find another mover in two days during the busiest closing weekend. Due to the efficiency and hard work of their dedicated staff, we ended up paying a bit less but I still feel like we were taken advantage of. I am sure they have done this to others with no remorse so watch out. I will end this on a positive note. Their crews are wonderful, respectful, and hardworking. I wish the company took a page out of their employee handbook and acted the same way.

Consolidated Moving
Very friendly and efficient movers.
Very friendly and efficient movers. They loaded up things very quickly, wrapped glass, and metal items to prevent scratching and breaking. I had a short move of about 2 miles. From a 1 bedroom apartment to a 2 bedroom house. The move took less than 2 hours and I was very pleased!

Commonwealth Movers, Inc
I hope not to move anytime soon but I would definitely use them again
I had used Commonwealth Movers in 1999 and 2000 so when I had to move in 2021 I decided to again give them a try. The movers were amazing and hard working all three moves! I cannot believe how the move was orchestrated so flawlessly. This time they moved me out of a 4th floor apartment with no elevators! They worked hard and only took a 5 min water break during the apartment move out. During the move in to my new place I made them stop for a lunch break. Heck I was hungry and I was not working hard like them! I had them move a crickety old desk that should have fallen apart and it made it through without a problem. I was shocked! They completed the move quicker than expected, came in under budget, and billed accordingly. I even got locked out of my new apartment as they were packing up and they offered to get a ladder out so I could get in through the balcony door! I hope not to move anytime soon but I would definitely use them again!

Overall, these guys did a pretty good job with most things. However, they messed up in a couple of different areas. First, they were misleading re: how careful and experienced they are in moving pianos. We would not recommend them for piano moving! There were many dings (it looked like the legs had all been dropped,) and the pedal system was bent. When we asked that they repair it, they simply wrote us a check for an amount reached from an equation they use for basic coverage. Also, in our cross-country move and after storing our furniture with them for 4 months, they somehow left 2 large sections of our couch and another chair back in the warehouse. They were several days late with the first delivery and it was another 3 week wait to get the missing pieces.

Although i booked my move with Jason at least 3 weeks in advance, the day of the move all i received was a phone call from Rolph who was supposed to be at my house at 3:00 then another phone call saying it would be at 4:00, another call saying it would be 5:00. and final call at 6:00 saying they could not make it, but they would be back in the morning. They loaded one pod and said they would be back. No one showed up. After leaving messages for Jason and Wes, they did not call back until i said i would leave a review about what i had just went thru. I had to pay premium Weekend price to get another moving company to move me on Sunday. I would never recommend this company, ever especially if you have to move on a certain date.

This was the best moving company
This was the best moving company i have ever used since i have been moving fom home to home. The movers were on time and courtious and worked real hard. They even went over their time limit with out complaining and did a wonderful job. I would recommend cousins movers to anyone anytime.

Highly recommended
Can not say enough good things about Capital. I called them in a panic to help my Mother move after she had a terrible experience with a different mover, and Capital was incredibly friendly, accommodating and squeezed my mothers move into their schedule on very short notice. Their team on the ground was professional, fast, friendly and accurate. Highly recommended.

BUYER BEWARE! Do not under any circumstances hire this mover. If you ignore this advice and hire them, do not pay with cash or credit card. They will use your credit card for other charges after you have paid in full and long after your move is complete. They will send checks to cover the erroneous charges, but the checks bounce. If you ignore any of this advice and hire them anyway, and purchase the 100% insurance coverage for damage to your property during the move, you must make a claim within 90 days after delivery. The mover will tell you that you have 6 months and will offer to send you a check for the damage to your property if it is a reasonable amount. The check never arrives, or if it does, there are insufficient funds in the movers bank account and you pay your bank the fee for the movers bounced check. The only way you know that the time limitation is 90 days is to go to the Illinois Commerce Commission website which informs you through a "Consumers Guide" that the time limitation is 90 days after delivery of the goods to file a dispute and you will pay an arbitration fee to settle the dispute with Moving Authority Household Goods Arbitration Program.

horrible experience
Unfortunately we had a horrible experience with this company. We had boxes packed very poorly and almost everything on our cross country move was broken or damaged. I would not recommend this company at all. Frames were thrown into boxes, unwrapped and shattered. We are so disappointed and we not called back or compensated at all for the damage.

best moving company
We have used these guys three different times to move locally. They have never been anything short of professional, courteous and patient. This last move was nothing less than delightful. We were less prepared as we lost some time cleaning up after a flood in our basement. Even in the chaos, our movers were everything we expect from Bester Brothers!

We had a great experience with Jeff and Jeremy from Burgess. They have a lot of experience. They were super fast and careful and strong. They were also very helpful in moving stuff around that was not part of the move itself. The move went faster than expected. We would definitely use these guys again.
