This company has proven to be disgusting in every way. I have been waiting to write this review because I was hoping to come to a resolution with USA/USB Movers regarding our problems. That hasn't happened. Full disclosure: This move happened at the end of August of '13 and we have been going through our Credit Card company to try to resolve the issue. This has been hands-down the worst experience I have ever had with a business. I want to try to keep this short so people read it and benefit from it. My wife and I hired USB Movers (then USA Movers) to move us from a small one-bedroom apartment on in Bethesda to a one-bedroom apartment in North Bethesda. The movers they sent were unable to perform the move. By the end of the day I had called friends to help us. My friends, my wife and I moved 90% our stuff from the moving truck into the new apartment including ALL of the furniture. I also spent the entire next day shuttling back and forth between apartments bringing the stuff they had left behind in our old apartment. Some of the reasons the movers could not move us include: They sent movers who had injuries and were unable to lift things, They sent movers who could not communicate with each other due to language

Comment : We recently used USB Movers and Storage for our move. I was extremely disappointed with our experience. While they ultimately completed the job and moved our furniture and contents, it was definitely not done without damage and headaches. Knowing that their initial quote over the phone would be a low-ball offer, we requested an on-site visit to get a more accurate quote.They claimed they couldn't but would guarantee a price ceiling that we were satisfied with. However, come moving day, it seemed our sales agent Barry, did not communicate half of what the representative saw at our on-site visit. The movers didn't even know we had stairs at our new location even though I repeatedly told the sales agent we did. Throughout the move they said they would have to charge us additional for this and for that which ultimately was going to add hundreds of dollars to our initial quote. After some debate we settled on an increase of $150 over our initial quote. This was done mostly because we felt bad that the actual movers (who are doing the back-breaking work) weren't notified about certain characteristics of our new property. Now I don't know if this is standard moving practice, but we had three movers taking furniture/contents out of the old apartment and only two on the other side for the move in. Maybe this is a tactic to increase the overall time it takes to complete the move therefore giving them a reason to charge us more? However, what I was most disappointed with was the un-repairable damage done to a piece of our furniture. This was a dresser that was in the family for years and the huge chunks of wood that were chipped off will never allow it to be restored to its initial condition. Their insurance policy is the standard commercial "$.60/lb” so even if we said the dresser weighs 100 lbs, the most we would receive would be $60. Comment : WORST experience ever!! Do not use this moving company! The only time the owner answers his phone is when he books you. Didn't show up the first day the move was scheduled and was 2 hours late the day it was rescheduled for. Believe what the BBB says. The owner will tell you a huge lie why he has such a poor rating. But from the experience we had, he earns every poor, miserable rating he gets. He also holds your furniture hostage when you disagree with him on the price (him sending extra guys for you to pay for when you didn't agree to it (whom didn't hardly work)). He tells the drivers of his truck to return the furniture back to the old house and put it on the lawn. After BEGGING him to please just bring it to the new house, he agrees only when you say you'll pay him in cash and pay the amount HE requests. The workers also load SO slow that they run the clock up so you have to pay more. I could go on and on for hours about the experience we had with him.

Comment : First off they did not bring a large enough truck and were unable to move all our belongings. Movers were very slow and did not try to carry to much each time they picked up somethng. They complained that the move was too big for 3 movers. After inspection of property it was determined that tbey stole all my jewelry valued at $10,000. The company called us liars when we confronted them and would not help us with our complaint. Well our credit card company sided with our dispute and at least refunded the overcharged price from the move.

Comment : these guys came and moved my music studio I was very skeptical because my instruments are my life and i also had a baby grand and Upright piano. they dissembled the pianos very quickly and Johnny and the gang were very strong and even tho we had a little dispute over the packing materials he was very flexible and gave me a discount were i only paid $2400 after all of my bickering i was please with the service i would recommend them to any one ... Comment : Whatever you do, you have to avoid being suckered by these people. I'm too traumatized to detail how truly bad they were, but a few highlights. They ended up charging me up to $1000, and they didn't even move everything out of the first place because it had already been 4 hours and they hadn't even finished loading the truck so I had to make them stop when I calculated how much it was costing me. We were moving our own things from our first place ourselves up to 4 o'clock in the morning. Also, as I'm unpacking now I'm seeing so much of our furniture that was damaged in the move. For the less than acceptable service they provide they shouldn't be so expensive. The owner is rude and condescending and continued to call me asking me to change another review, which I was well within my rights to write. Avoid them at all costs.

Comment : I am very disappointed by Joseph's actions and attitude. I am also very disappointed that this is the way you do business. I plan to take this to the Better Business Bureau. This is the reason why they have contracts; so that it can be honored. I am disputing this charge with my credit card company, so you can expect a call from them. In addition, be advise that I will take every action to share my negative experience. Joseph needs to take accountability for what he promised us. If he makes a mistake in his quote then it is his problem. I will also seek legal action on this matter as I am not playing any games! Legal contracts are meant to be binding! And I have all the supporting emails to go with it.

Comment : when the movers got to my house it seemed to be a problem. Now I understand regarding the packing supplies I should have read a little better with that concern but I have am baffled why I was charged a fuel charge?? Per the contract that the gentleman that I have been speaking to likes to reference only mentioning the 10% fuel charge in regards to heavy items not that it is a basic charge. I have tried speaking with the gentleman expressing that but he keeps saying he has to eat and that I'm cheap but not at my detriment because I have to eat too and when you are told a charge that is what you are prepared to pay. Again I understand about the packing materials and everything but this was a bit much. I have spoken with 2 additional companies and these charges are not standard with an hourly based move which I was told how this company works. Stay away!

Comment : I moved last month down to North Carolina from Norfolk. Although its interstate, its not a long drive, but a lot of the estimates I received were far too high. USB Movers contacted me and provided what I thought was a fair estimate. The day of the move, they came early and helped me finish packing up the last of my items. We drove down and got caught in a little traffic. When we got to my new home, they quickly set everything up. Gabriel the foreman, did a great job, especially with my expensive items, which I was worried about. He protected them beautifully and I am very happy. I would do business with them again

Comment : I had scheduled with another company for my move from Woodbridge to Germantown. Well the day of the move, they didn't show up and I started to panic, wondering how am I going to get my things out. I searched online and received a call immediately from Stephanie the rep for USB Movers. She was very courteous and explained their hourly rate. She sent over a contract I could sign electronically and the movers were there within an hour. They worked quickly and got everything loaded, taking care not to break anything or leave any scuff marks. At the new apartment, they unloaded everything and set up my furniture and mounted the tvs for me. Given the time crunch, I'd happily recommend them to anyone for their good service.
